A new ‘eDiscovery Data Download client’
We are happy to announce a much simpler option to download custodian data from Druva inSync Cloud; eDiscovery Download Client. This new, GUI based option will be available with the cloud update scheduled for October 03, 2020.
With a simplistic UI and fast data downloads, the new client will make your life easy. For a sneak-peek of what's coming, see Introducing the new, GUI-based eDiscovery Download Client.
All you need do is ensure the following requirements are met:
Hardware requirements
* CPU: 2 GHz, 2 CPU cores
* Minimum RAM: 1 GB
* Minimum Disk Space: 10 GB
Software requirements
You can install the eDiscovery Download Client on the following operating systems:
* Windows:
- Windows 8, 8.1 (64-bit), 10 (64-bit) all editions
- Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016
Note: For Windows OS, you must have Microsoft .Net 4.5 or higher installed.
*macOS:
- macOS X 10.13 , 10.14, 10.15

While installing inSync Server, you are automatically guided through the supported inSync Client download and distribution process. Note - Existing inSync On-Premises customers must contact Druva Support for upgrade. Druva offers a SaaS platform for data protection across data centers, cloud applications, and endpoints. Securely backup and recover data with the scale and simplicity of the public cloud, and only pay for what you use, reducing your overall TCO.
IMD parameters need to be passed in the mass deployment command. The parameters are saved to Keychain so that the mass deployment token is saved securely. For more information on parameters, see Parameter details.
inSync Client 6.2.0 and earlier
Procedure
To mass deploy inSync client on Mac devices:
- Install inSync client on Mac devices in your environment using any automated installation tool.
- After installing the inSync Client on user devices, use the following command to pass the IMD configuration parameters to the inSync Client. These parameters are securely saved in the system Keychain of the Mac devices. You need root privileges to execute this command.
Basic command format: <AppExecutable> [<--parameter1> <value1>] [<--parameter2> <value2>] ...
Example:
The command passes the IMD parameters to the client system and saves them in Keychain of the Mac device.
Note: The token value used in the example is for presentation purpose only. A token is unique and you must generate your own before the installation.
In case the IMD command fails, refer to the troubleshooting section.
inSync Client 6.5.0 and later
Procedure
To mass deploy inSync client on Mac devices:
